I bought this because I replaced a crankshaft sensor on my GM truck. The manual says to do the variation learn method. The internet says there are other ways to do it if a scanner is not available, but it involves a lot of time and a lot of driving. I figured I might as well try this since I could add many manufacturers, and it being bidirectional I could command other test on other brand cars if you have their software installed. The item arrived in less than a week. Once received you have to go to their website and download whatever manufacturer(s) you want. After that, I went outside and plugged it in and selected the crankshaft relearn, and followed the instructions. Once the conditions were met, it took less than 30 seconds to complete! A really great tool to have around especially if you have multiple car manufacturers and you don't want to purchase the car dealer's specific scanner with their proprietary software.

Had to change the brakes on our 2018 Chevy Equinox which has the dreaded pull lever for the parking brake. I watch a couple videos of the manual way and the scanner way and went with the scanner way so that I didn't break something important and screw it up.The screen shots are what it took to get to where I needed and the rest was pretty easy. All told start to finish took me an hour to change the front and rear and have the electronic parking break set properly.Will be getting the software for my F-150 next since it also has the electric parking brake.Buy with confidence as this tool will do the job needed.

I bought this because I was having trouble with my power lock system on my 03 Pontiac & wanted a budget friendly tool to fix rather than dropping $800+ on a high-end scanner just to access the BCM.
